Do I have to share publicly to renew my oath?

No. You can renew your oath in private or even solo, if you wish!

If I’m not military or a federal employee, can I renew my oath?

Yes! We celebrate and thank all public servants, and this program is for all of those who take an oath of office or enlistment.

Is this a partisan initiative?

No. Everyone can support the Constitution, the rule of law, the unique roles of different branches of government, and the power of civic engagement and democracy. This is neither partisan nor extremist.

How do public servants respond to unethical or unlawful orders?

Seek support from trusted resources, check for whistleblower and complaints processes, consult with lawyers, disobey unlawful orders, and consider all your options, including resignation, if necessary.

Can I renew my oath outside of Public Service Recognition Week?

Yes. It is always a good time to remind ourselves of our duties and promises.
